Essential Apps for Business Owners
Updated: Nov 7, 2018

As a business owner that specialises in project management in primary care, a married, busy mum of 3 and an employer, I find myself extremely reliant on technology to keep me organised and to support me in juggling my clients, my team, my family and myself.
Here are my 6 essential apps that I couldn't live without.
Dropbox is a secure cloud-based storage solution for documents, videos and photos. As long as I have a laptop or phone and WiFi, I can access and share all the latest documents produced by my team and myself.
Price: £79.99 per year
LastPass can be installed in your website browser and is used for saving and accessing you passwords, so you never have to worry about forgetting a password again. Genius!!!

Asana is a cloud-based project management tool which I use to allocate tasks to my team and keep track of the progress of a project. If I get a blog idea or remember a task for me to do, using my phone, laptop or computer I just simply add it to my asana.

Wunderlist is similar to Asana but I use this app as an electronic to-do list that I keep on my phone for personal tasks only.Play dates for the kids, shopping lists, school clubs, what I’m cooking tonight, gym workouts… That sort of thing.

We use Outlook to manage our emails and calendars. It's easy to use and I like that you can colour block emails and diary entries

Voxer is a messaging app for your smartphone with live voice (like a PTT walkie-talkie), text, photo and location sharing. I use this daily to keep in contact with my business besties, to share my ideas, keep me on track and hold me accountable. (I mainly use the live voice messages as it is quicker than sending a text)
