Our Guide to the best Q4 and Q1 events in 2024 for Primary Care Network Leaders

Updated: Apr 9

At THC Primary Care, we provide resources for Primary Care leaders, and we try to give you as much FREE content as we can, alongside our day job of managing Primary Care Networks.

In this blog, we provide our winter guide to events covering:

🎯 Pulse PCN events

🎯 Best Practice London

🎯 NHS Confederation Primary Care Conference

🎯 The HealthTechX Summit 2024

🎯 PCN Plus LIVE 2024

🎯 The Digital Healthcare Show

🎯 National Conference in Personalised Care 2024

🎯 All the best and most relevant webinars in January 2024

It might seem impossible (especially while we are deep in the winter pressure period) to even consider taking time out to attend an event, but the opportunities and insights on offer to Primary Care leaders cannot be underestimated.

Having space away from the nine-to-five to collect your thoughts, network, learn from others and potentially tap into additional support (to name but a few advantages) makes attending events and webinars a hugely worthwhile investment.

Let’s jump in!

Why attend?

The team behind the award-winning Pulse magazine and Pulse LIVE events will be running a series of discussion forums throughout 2024, which have been specifically created for PCN Clinical Directors, PCN Managers and senior staff.

Offering face-to-face events in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester, each session provides an opportunity to discuss the major challenges affecting PCNs and enhances education on regulation, revenue, clinical services, staffing, and more.

The event format balances expert sessions alongside peer networking, and an opportunity to engage with a handpicked selection of leading suppliers within the exhibition hall.

The aim of these events is to provide senior PCN staff with advice and guidance on running a network and offer practical take-aways which can be put into place to enact real change.

Planned with the current Primary Care backdrop in mind [ improved access to services; workforce challenges, debate about new GP and PCN contracts, the role of primary care at scale and a fast-approaching general election] as well as acknowledging the opportunities at play, the theme of this year’s NHS Confederation Primary Care Conference is ‘Primary care at the interface - maximising the opportunity of greater connection in neighbourhood, place and system’.

The event provides a forum for those working in Primary Care to come together with local and national local experts, and inspirational speakers, to examine what changes and ways of working need to be implemented in order to improve patient care, sustain primary care, and drive change and innovation.

Over the course of the day, you will be able to participate in discussions focused on the following topics and themes:

Reimagining the future of primary care

Alternative approaches to commissioning primary medical services

The role of primary care as an economic anchor

Addressing health inequalities through greater collaboration with pharmacy
